
Rimonabant
Rimonabant is a highly-efficient prescription drug often used for patients diagnosed with severe obesity. Such patients are unable to lose any of their weight just dieting and exercising and therefore need this kind of help. However, taking rimonabant does not mean you will not have to exercise and reduce the amount of calories consumed. This medicine will only be efficient if combined with a healthier diet and regular exercise. There are a number of health risks associated with using rimonabant. You are not supposed to be taking it if you are younger than 18 or older than 75. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are other contraindications that exist. You will need to tell your health care provider if you have impaired kidney function, liver problems, or a history of epilepsy, as these medical conditions can affect the dose you have been prescribed. Mild side effects are sometimes possible and include irritability, dry mouth, vomiting, nausea, restlessness, anorexia, anxiety, irritability, depression, nausea, dizziness, and sleep problems. These side effects are not considered to be serious as long as they go away soon after appearing. Also tell your health care provider if you are taking itraconazole, phenytoin, nefazodone, ritonavir, telithromycin, clarithromycin, phenobarbital, carbamazeptine, or ketaconazole, as drug interactions are not uncommon.
